I just dont know
I play call of duty 2 regularly. Earlier I was playing and after a map my fps went from 90 to 6 midgame. I removed the fps cap switched from Directx9 to 7 and still nothing. This problem seems to right itself after a restart but thats not something I'm willing to do everytime it starts acting up. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Drivers uninstalled and reinstalled, the game uninstalled and reinstalled. I tried to start up the game and in the process of loading a map my computer froze and rebooted all by itself without my pushing reset. So here I go again, rest assured I will be back. AND that didnt help at all. FPS still drops to a single digit number.

Do you have any applications running in the background, as in Virus scanners or anything else?
To find out what loads at startup go Start -> Run -> Type "msconfig" ->then go to the "startup" tab (far right), and see what is running on startup. If there are a lot of things that you think are unnecessary (not windows functions) then you can switch them off during boot and this may help improve peformance. |
