What are you using to see the fps its running at?? Update your drivers.. Video, sound, lan, mobo .. Do a spy ware scan and viruses.. Turn off virus scanners when running the games.. Turn off all back ground processes that have nothing to do with the game or windows..
all so what is the system locking up?? may be your power..

The UT engine is renowned for its speed. On a rig like that you should be getting at LEAST 60fps.

Ok, thnx for the replies.
I play a variety of games, ( UT2004, Doom3, Call of Duty, FEAR) I only really play like COD and now UT2004. Also the gametype is on Onslaught. My ISP is Aol, which I heard is kinda crappy for gaming. Its also hard to tell which processes I should shut down( Isn't there some sort of program I can use? ) |

on ut2k4 u should be getting around 100fps minimum i think or somewhere around there.
do you have AOL broadband or Dialup ? download some drivers from nvidia (84.21 first if that doesnt help the newer ones) also download fraps a free FPS monitoring program so u can see the actual FPS in the game and possibly detect lag or drops.

Ok, I checked in my msconfig and disabled all unnessesary stuff. I play a few other games that run fairly well, but not as good as they used to run. I don't know the AGP or the aprature size or w/e. Could it be the temperature of the CPU or GPU? When i'm playing UT2004 ( Onslaught ) the CPU is @ 60*C and the GPU is @ 59-61*C
