Fallout 1&2

I know it's really old but I was given this game awhile agoand have just now gotten around to playing it.

The problem is, when the game is running, it displays in a setting similar to widescreen, but I'm not using a widescreen monitor. I also can't change the dimensions of the display on my monitor like I could on my last computer (just got a new one)

This only seems to happen in fallout but it happens in both 1 and 2.

Im using DirectX 9

system specs:
WinXP pro
AMD Athlon X2 Dual 4800+ (2.41 GHz)
1GB ram (Corsair I think)
nVidia GeForce 7900 GT

Unfortunately there is no options menu in either of them as far as I can find.

thats interesting. try looking around the main screen usually you should be able to adjust quality of graphics and detail etc in a menu inside the game.

I came up with the same problem in a freeware game which also doesnt let u change the resolution, thankfully though I got a new monitor today (due to other problems with it) and it fixed this problem (in both games).

I guess 8 years or so of use everyday for over 5 hours will wear out a monitor.

For your curiosity though, Fallout came out back during Win95 & Win98 (supports DOS too), and now that I can see the full menu it indeed does not have any sort of options menu.
