hmmm....pretty out-dated system.

Is it running XP? The system reqs for the game REQUIRE XP and no other OS will work.

Video card issues: Requires 128MB shader model 1.1 and DirectX 9. Your card has only up to 64MB and does not support Shader model of any version and only supports up to DirectX7.

I'm willing to bet your video card is killing it.

My System

Hi guys,

I am having an identical problem with this game but am pretty sure that my hardware is up to the job. Support seems to be thin on the ground on the official site and was wondering if anyone had any ideas.

My Specs:
XP Pro
AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ (Running @ 2.8Ghz)
DFI LanParty NF4 UT Expert
2GB Ram
NVIDIA GeForce 7600GT (XFX)
465.77GB (Stripe)
DirectX 9.0c

Although I have overclocked the system I have had no stability issues regarding any other software. All drivers fully updated, fully defragged etc...

The game never gets past the intro and I have tried various graphical settings within the game.

Any help would be very much appreciated!

Hi, from what i've read this game is so buggy you could still say it is in alpha stages.
About 90% of all forums concerning this game are filled with nothing but threads about bugs and compatability issues.
This is one particular thread that might be of help, it seems that it has something to do with drivers but not having the latest ones, try rolling back your drivers to an older version (not recommended but if you really want to play it...) and see if that works, if not then i would just get the latest drivers again and wait to see if the developers release some sort of patch to deal with all the problems.
Although they apparently never released any patches for the previous BS games so you may be waiting a long time... a very long time.

After reading the posts in your link, Tiber Septim, I found a thread with a solution that appears to work for me (touch wood).

Here

The solution for me was to disable DEP: My Computer -> Properties -> Advanced -> Settings -> Data Execution Prevention -> Turn on DEPfor essential Windows programs and services only.

And also to disable FSAA in game.

I hope this can be of some use to anyone else in this situation.

Thanks for the info Special_Edition, i hope this can help other people but it seems like there is a diferent problem for everybody that uses it...perhaps a bit more time spent bug testing would've been a good idea.

Happy Gaming!
