problem with servers for game..

when i first installed BF 2, i installed the newest patch (1.3) and there seemed to be only 4 to 2 servers that have a ping of 0 while everything else is 200 or above. does anyone know if this is supposed to happen, anyone know how to fix it?

a 0 ping!?!? wow, thats like saying you are the server! I am not experienced with BF2, but I know there should be servers with pings inthe 50-100 range. These would be good servers to play on. Have you tried refreshing the list a few times? What is your connection? How long ago did the patch come out?

If I'm not mistaken BF2 is WAY past update 1.3, but again I haven't played that one in a while (No longer even loaded on the machine.) However at one point when I had the game installed I had lapsed on installing the most current updates, and got similiar response from the active server list. Average ping on a fast server for BF2 should be around 50, maybe a little less. Generally if there is a 0 ping, something is wrong.

hmmm...1.3 is the latest according to EA's site. You patched right when you got it so you haven't played before the patch, correct? Try to repatch it.

Yea I would do that. Rather than using the in-game patch program, I would actually go the the EA website and download the patch from there. I never have much luck with any in-game patch programs.

yeah i believe i do have to repatch because the game says the version is 1.1 no 1.3.. on the top right corner of the game menu

i think i d/l the patch that updates from version 1.2 instead.
so to repatch it may i just d/l 1.3 that updates from 1.1 and install it.
