Windows XP Pro
ATI Radeon 9800 pro
1 gig memory
Asus motherboard.

i dont know that much about computers, i tried to check for new or latest drivers at ATI, but the site is confusing. is there any way to check if im missing drivers ?
just wondering.

This is the driver download page you need. Download the Display Driver Only option. Make sure you uninstall the previous drivers before installing the new ones.

Open up Device Manager (Control Panel -> System -> Hardware -> Device Manager) and see if there are any yellow exclamation marks, especially under Display adapters.

Also, make sure you have the latest version of DirectX.

Let us know how you go.

ok, no yellow exclamation marks anywhere.

the link you posted for drivers, click it, then i click radeon right?
then what? which one do i need ? thats as far as ive been able to figure out on that site.

directx, where do get it. i notice when i go to sites like ebaumsworld, i cant play the videos there. i get this message "cannot create directshow player" does that have anything to do with it ?

For the driver, select Windows XP Drivers and Software -> RADEON -> Catalyst 6.6 Windows XP - Driver Download, then select the Display Driver Only option from the table.

As for DirectX, that can be downloaded from Microsoft's DirectX site: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/directx/default.mspx
Updating DirectX may also fix the problem with videos.

new drivers worked, havent gotten directx yet, but the new drivers let me play the game thanks for all your help :)
