Games being displayed in a incorrect resolution.

I have been playing mostly pogo games and reflexive games and when they are in full screen they are not in the correct resolution. Some of them are and most aren't. Some of them give me the option to change the resolution in the game but others do not. Is it possible to reprogram the games some how to make them play in the correct resolution. My screen's resolution is 1024 by 768. It is the highest my card can go. The lowest is 320 by 200. My color quality is on 32 bit the lowest it can go is 8 bit. If you need any further information or recomend a better setting for my card so then the games can all be set to that resolution however it is done I will change anything that is needed to be changed.

Unfortunately, I don't think there's anything you can do. I think you're stuck with whatever resolutions the games will go to. Sorry to disappoint.

Well I am going to talk to popcap about it. Because I am sure there is a way to do it. How did the game programer to make the game to display in that screen resolution? If the game programer can make it display in that resolution then I am sure that if I reprogrammed it some way it will display in the resolution I want it to. Correct?

That is something that we can not help with because altering copywrited material is a big no-no!

That is why I contacted popcap and told them about the issue and asked if there is a way to alter the screen resolutions.

Thanks. I really hope they can tell me if it is possible to fix them problems. They will probally tell me to put my compute in 800by600 resolution temporarly. But I told them my screen is wavy when it is in that resolution it is as if my screen does not support that resolution entirely when it says it does. Do you think my screen is going out. I have the latest video card drivers I don't know about monitor drivers it is a Packard Bell 1024S windows installed this one and it's date is 6/6/01 I really don't think there is a later date than that. But I think the problem may be fixed. My driver list said default monitor for the driver. I uninstalled it and scaned for hardware changes and it went to packard bell so everything should be fine.

If you change your desktop resolution to 800x600 or 640x480 the games should fill the screen properly. You might have to change the monitor's refresh rate to get rid of the wavy effect. It sounds like it's defaulting to 60htz or lower.

Yes that is correct. Well anyways I hate doing something I don't have to do. Like changing the resolution everytime I play the games. So I am going to be getting a program that I am going to make sometime approved by popcap then anyone else having the same problem will be able to use this program. The program will automatically adjust the proper settings on the computer to match the resolution of the game. Then when exiting the game it should put the resolution the the previous setting that your computer was set at. I really don't think I would need approval from popcap to do something like this because it would not any way alter their game. Tell me what you think. Also tell me if I am creating something that no one else has created.

That would be helpful for your situation, but most current games will adjust the resolution themselves. It's the older games which tend to have trouble.

Good luck making the program. You shouldn't need to get it approved by anyone, as it wouldn't actually modify any part of any programs. As for whether someone else has made something like that: I have no idea, but possibly not.
