WoW locks up every ten minutes in game.
my computer locks up after 10 mins in game regardless, it was doing it before the patch and its still doing it after. I had just renewed my subscription just 2 days ago and now this happens, so much for starting over. this is not right it never happened when i used to have my game and all ive done since then was reformat my harddrive a month and a half ago and get a bigger, better power supply so its really really really iriatating having my computer lockup after 10 minutes regardless of the situation. i have to completly manually reboot my system too. ive moved all my graphics down to the lowest possible and i have played it in windows mode, and still, 10 minutes max regardless. Help plz.
i just installed the latest beta drivers for my nvidia geforce 6600 and the game still locks up my computer at EXACTLY 10 minutes without fail.. |

Hi,
Download and run this free program so we can see the voltages and the temperatures. You can use this program to track the temps through the game starting and playing by putting it in the tray. Here is the free download. SensorViewPro

Interestingly enough, it turns out LAST night, I was just surfing the net, and my screen turns to vertical hyrogryphics and artifacts. I restart my computer non-stop, same thing, right on startup before the BIOS. I do everything software-ly possible to fix it. Doesn't help. Go to sleep cause it was 4 in the morning. Wake up and my parents had called our uncle to see if he could fix it. He thinks it's a virus (imagine the Joseph McCarthy of virus') and I can't convince him that while I was laying in bed I thought it was the video card and he try's to asure me that it's not because he checked to see if there was anything conflicting with it from system hardware (the whole time the computer screen is still in artifacts and vertical swiggly lines).
Anyways, after about an hour and a half and he's tired of it, I go in the case, take out the video card, connect it to the monitor to the onboard video and ba-da-bing, ba-da-boom, starts up fresh and clean. This is after he has uninstalled all my service packs and windows updates and deleted half the files on my harddrive including.. World of Warcraft.. obviously he thought that was a virus too. Anyways, I find that there was a lose screw in my case and it had found its way into the fan of my video card, which wasnt turning because it was like a stick in the stokes of a bicycle. And the magnitism from the turbines in the fan were apparently attracting it. I had a slot fan pointing at the video card, thats probably why it lasted while playing Counter-Strike: Source. So I gave it some time to rest, the fan turns fine now, so I'm gonna put it in so I can play games again.. I hope. I'm looking at this Sensor View thing and my 5v is running at 4.75v is that dangerous? CPU 57 °C / 135 °F SYS 28 °C / 83 °F AUX 31 °C / 88 CPU Fan 2597 RPM VCoreA 1.63 V VCoreB 2.56 V +3.3V 3.30 V +5V 4.78 V +12V 12.40 V +5VSB 4.97 V These are all just idling temps. For idling temps, that CPU is way too hot. It should be idling at around 40C. Does the BIOS read the same temp?
Check that the heatsink and fan are seated properly, and that you have the right amount of thermal paste between the CPU and cooler. I'd also re-apply the thermal paste just to be sure.
