Online problem with game

Hi, I'm new to these forums. I have a problem I have had for awhile that I can't seem to fix. This game, LOTR:BFME2, is a awesome online game. When I log in and I go in lobby and try to enter a game by clicking create a game/join game. I can move my cursor and click on things with it being responsive, but the Log Out and Options Disappear. Something I have noticed is when i go in and look at everyone who is at lobby, when there are alot of people with level 1 with 0 games played, including me, it will freeze if I try to join/create a game. Also, when I wait awhile it will close and say Game.dat has encountered a error and needs to close. The weird part is it only happens about 50% of the time.

This is what i'm running-
Microsoft Windows XP
Geforce 9400 GT
3.00GB of RAM
2.80 GHz Processor

I've already tried reinstalling the game and turning my firewall off.
Someone help me please!

Hello and welcome to TSF

Make sure you have the latest graphics drivers. You can find them in my signature.

Also, try installing the latest patch for the game.

Thanks for your effort, but none of these helped fix this problem. I guess this is just a un-fixable error lol

I've just noticed that the bug has actually become MORE frequent after updating my drivers. Thats just plain weird.

I know you've done this already; but try reinstalling with Revo Uninstaller.

Also make sure you have the latest service pack (SP3)

Yes, I seem to remember back when I played BFME2, I would sometimes get a "Game.dat" error, seemingly at random. It went away when I did a new Windows installation, so the most likely cause is simply that some files have corrupted and then failed to uninstall when you did your original reinstall. Revo should get rid of any which would otherwise refuse to be budged.

Ok so I've done everything you guys have suggested, but nothings working, I'm still losing connection frequently, and its still freezing like the screenshot. Any other ideas? And thanks for all your help
