[SOLVED] Xbox Live & Belkin F5D8635uk4A issue

Hi guys, hopefully someone can point me in the right direction with this. I have just purchased a Belkin F5D8635uk4A and attempted to hook my Xbox 360 up to the router (wireless & wired). My MTU setting is at 1500 but my Xbox is saying that "Your network doesn't have a sufficient MTU setting. Xbox Live requires a minimum MTU setting of 1364". This is happening on both wired and wireless. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Cheers,

Ross

Hi Ross,
Try opening the ports for Xbox in your router using this guide. However, the Xbox, not the computer, will need to have a static IP address.

Thank you very much :) that has fixed the issue. The port forwarding instructions for the xbox 360 are completely wrong! That fixed the issue after rebooting the router :)

Thanks again :D

Re: Xbox Live & Belkin F5D8635uk4A issue

One more question:

I have two xbox 360's in the house. I have had to set them up like this:

The only issue I have is, that the second xbox (ashley xbox) is having nat issues, as I can only add 1 ip in Firewall > DMZ . Is there any way around this? as I need to add two to sort the nat issue.

Cheers,

Ross

Glad you got one working!

Unfortunately, however, you may not be able to have both of them online simultaneously. With NAT, the same ports cannot be open to more than one network device at a time. The only practical way to get around this issue is to change the ports Xbox Live uses to something similar, and I don't think that's possible with Xbox Live.

Damn :( I can get the other console online but it is NAT strict, so it is more than useless :(

To get both of them connected, it would require getting an additional modem and connecting the Xbox to that. Your ISP would probably also charge you extra to have 2 public IP addresses, however.

Re: Xbox Live & Belkin F5D8635uk4A issue

Well I managed to get the xbox that had NAT strict down to moderate just by changing the wireless from WPA to wep. As long as I can get online on COD4 with moderate, I will be happy.

Thanks for all your help, it is much appreciated :)
