Can't connect to any online game including steam
Its been like this for about 1 week. I cant connect to steam or any other online game. I always get a message telling me that I need to connect to the internet. I've turned off my firewall and tried. I've been directly connected to my router. I've reinstalled programs like steam and now i cant even install steam because it says i must connect to the internet. I've scanned my computer for malicious content, ive turned off my virus protection. Everything worked fine up until last saturday. I can't even connect to runescape. But, IE and mozilla work fine. I can download fine and my anti-virus can upgrade.
Please help and tell me what i can do to fix this problem. Last edited by Indoril Nerevar; 11-01-2009 at 04:58 PM. |

Re: Can't connect to any online game including steam
No I wasnt even home that day. it started with a steam update the next day. It wouldnt download the update because it said I was offline. I've now noticed that i cant even get on firefox now, everytime I do it cant load any web page and says its unable to connect, and that IE is the only browser that works. Also I have found a way to bypass the problem with steam but it is temporary. I can play steam if I reinstall it and then lie about the kind of internet connection I use. ( It asks ths during the install process). But when i restart my computer, turn it off and on, it goes back to saying that I need to connect to the internet to use steam. Its the same way with firefox when I download it, it will work just fine after the download, but when i exit the firefox it reverts right back to not working.
I havent tried this process with any of my other programs because it seems to be so time but I would believe that the same process would occur if I were to do so. |
