Unreal Tournament 3 connection craziness

Okay, I got the game thru Steam. My PC easily passes the requirements to run. I'm on a cable internet that runs thru a router(my PC is wired; other PC's in my house are the wireless ones). I can connect to game servers just fine; I cant, however, host a game. My friend can connect to game servers as well; he cant connect to me, nor I to him. So for some reason, neither of us seem to be able to host a game. Again, we can connect to any other server.

I cant see how its my router/port forwarding hassle, though, since I am able to connect to any server I pick...except my friend. Same for him. Anyone have any thoughts?

Video Card: Nvidia 8800 GTS 320 MB PCI-E
PSU: not sure, but never had a problem with lackof power for anything
