Vent Issues

My vent will either not let me connect to vent...no matter the server or will let me connect...and I get no lag listening..but I can't talk..because it lags me talking...and then will just randomly DC me...

I've reset my modem, forwarded the ports...just tried a lot of things...even called my ISP...and they haven't changed anything recently and they say my connection is fine...

This just started happening this week...I have not had an issue before this...and I have made absolutely no changes to anything....

Re: Vent Issues

Going to bump this because it is the same issue I am having.

Randomly it takes a long time to connect to a Ventrilo server. After I am connected my ping ranges from 500-30,000... I can hear everyone just fine, but if I try to talk I have extreme lag and no one can understand me. Changing channels takes forever and trying to communicate with text also had horrible lag. It does this very randomly...other times I get no lag and it works just fine.

This tends to only happen throughout the day. Later in the evening it seems to not happen at all.

I have also tried connecting to the ventrilo server on the other PCs in my house and its the same with them so its not anything Hardware related.

Also if I connect to the Ventrilo server I have hosted on my PC it never lags and works great.

FYI:
I am on a Linksys BEFSR41 router. Just to make sure I'm not missing anything I turned on DMZ Host for my PC. So its not the router firewall causing this.

Also I live in SC, just over the border from Charlotte NC. I have Comporium as my ISP.

Could this be something with my ISP blocking some ports? I'm stumped on what could be causing this.
