I'm currently trying to set up a ventrilo server for use while playing dialo 2. ive gotten to the point where i can connect to the server but my buddy is getting the contacting message. im not currently running a firewall, altho i am norton antivirus ver. 16.7.2.11 but cant find a place where i would be able to allow incoming users. if anyone has any ideas on what i can do, please let me know.

Re: Setting up a ventrilo server
welcome to TSF
all the times when i tried to run my vent server i have found that norton got in the way. Attempt to disable it and try it out that way. Also, are you behind a router? you might need to forward your ports. |

Re: Setting up a ventrilo server
Hi
Yes. First simply try disabling Norton temporarily to see if that's actually causing the problem. If that doesn't work, please post the make and model of your router (if you're using one).
