xbox live dropping connection when not using online features in games
Ok first thread any assistance would be appreciated.
I have an xbox directly wired into an o2 router and it connects to xbox live fine and live works fine when i'm playing online but I find that when i'm playing a game and not using any online features my xbox live seems to disconnect. e.g If i'm playing an offline RPG for example i'll notice it drop connection after a random amount of time For that matter my brother has a sky router/modem and has found since I took his computer to repair it his xbox live disconnects much more frequently. This kind of leads me to think that there is some sort of time out issue on the routers as the pc I took was always online and nearly always being used and he didn't have a problem. Do routers just nod off when not being used?!! Also I find when I shutdown my wireless laptop and xbox and start them back up say when I get home that although I can connect to the router I can't access the internet and i have to reboot it before I can get back online. Not sure if it's a coincidence but I've noticed this behaviour when watching tv online, no problems when i'm constantly surfing but if i'm sitting watching a program on the iPlayer etc after a time it'll just drop connection. Any ideas? Thanks |
