Horrid Download speed.. High ping

Hello.. I am experiencing horrid ping online.. It jumps from 20 through 500 randomly.

Now i know its not my computer cause i have tried on other computers as well.
Here is my Speedtest

I have Cox Cable and a Linksys router.

The Download speed is normally always that low but the ping is sometimes nice and consistent at 50.
Ive noticed it gets particularly bad when my sisters get home..

Im no computer expert but if im online and they get home.. Decide they want to watch a video or Download a Song it will kill my connection until they are finished correct?

Please help

I believe if you have multiple people on the same network, it will slow it down with each person added. I would recommend getting better internet. Oh yeah...just a word of advice...I don't know if you meant download music as paying for it, but if it's not paided for it you should tell them it's illegal ;). 50 ping isn't that great, I generally have a ping of 8.

In addition to what Zealex stated, have you tried resetting your modem and router?
