Warcraft 3 Hosting Issues
I've been having issues trying to host Warcraft 3 games. I'm connected through an ethernet jack to my university's "Reznet", and there's a little warning sticker below it telling you to turn your firewall on before you plug it in so I assume it doesn't go through a router at some point.
I'm running Comodo firewall, I tried making an exception for Warcraft 3 under Advanced -> Network Security Policy -> Global Rules that allows any in/out connection on TCP or UDP from any Source Address to any Destination Address from Source Ports ranging from 6112 to 6119 to Destination Ports ranging from 6112 to 6119. I've added all the W3 executables as My Own Safe Files. I made exceptions for each port in Windows Firewall as well, even though it's turned off. I'm also running Avira and Spybot S&D, but I don't think that either of those would be interfering Any suggestions? |

Re: Warcraft 3 Hosting Issues
I'm not connected via a router, I thought I made that clear, I guess I didn't. I'm connected into an ethernet jack in my dorm, it never goes through a router, at least not in my room. I'm in a building with 11 other floors of people, so it's possible that there's a router at some point down the line. Is there any way I can check that? I tried typing in 192.168.2.1 and 192.168.0.1 into Firefox, which was how I could ping my router before, but to no avail. I tried going into CMD, doing ipconfig and then typing the Default Gateway in, but I didn't get anything there either.
I'm going to try and contact the people who run my internet and ask if I'm actually behind a router or not |

Re: Warcraft 3 Hosting Issues
Yes, you will need to contact a techincian about opening the ports, as they probably have security setup to block the ports.
