Battlefield 2 Punkbuster Issues

BF2 has been working fine for me for since i updated it, after i got it back from being repaired, but now every time i enter a server with supposedly good ping, i experience a lot of lag, and my ping counter skyrockets.

this happens 3 times, then i am booted by punkbuster from the server because i am missing a file:

(A1392 C2.181)
(pbcl)

i am tempted to simply reinstall bf2 from scratch, i could easily download the patch again, but i am hestant to do so, because i dont know how my Project Reality mod will be affected, and i REALLY dont want to download that again!
(3.19 GB)

if u have any advice, please help

also i think PR is working fine (likely because it does not use PB)

ok, just double checked, PR has the same issue, and it also says

error loading pbcl
