computer freezes when gaming

my computer works great. but when i try to play games that require good 3-D graphics, the terrain's textures and colors flicker then my ocmputer freezes. i dont know what the problem could be, but i know its not a virus because i run 2 virus scans a day with Symmantec Endpoint Protection.

i am using a iBUYPOWER Appolo

specs: Windows Vista Home Premium
AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5200+ 2.70 GHz
4.00 GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 9500 GT

it only does this when i play games like World of Warcraft, Warhammer Online, Warhammer 40k Dawn of War 2.

please, any help would be appreciated!

Re: computer freezes when gaming

A psu is a power supply unit , and that's where the source of power is for the computer. You will need to open up the inside of your computer to see it.

Re: computer freezes when gaming

i read some comments on the site i bought the computer from the site i got this computer from, and one person saying " I have gotten quite a few bsods since I've had it. I just received it on Friday the 27th of Feb, and I think I've had about 5-6 bsods, the latest one being a problem caused by a piece of Realtek hardware. The others were suspected to be connected to the Ethernet adapter. Still trying to sort it out." and another said to upgrade video card.
