MSN Minesweeper Flags

Hello everyone, I am currently having a problem in Minesweeper flags in the MSN messenger. I use to play this game alot with my girl but recently I get a problem when I start the game. It shows the message Critical error 3. The game could not access a critical file needed and has to close. Close the window and try again. I did all they told me to do in the help section, namely deleting the activeX files and the game files. Cleared the cookies, reinstalled messenger, tried older versions, installed all the windows components, installed IE8, tried to look for solutions on the web using google, and reinstalling MSN again. It still wont work. The only option left with me is to format my computer.
I use WLM 2009 and Windows XP SP3. Is there anything that I can do to enjoy the game with her again?
