Warcraft III Hosting Problem on Windows Vista

Hi Everyone

Was wondering if someone may be able to shed some light on a problem I'm having hosting Warcraft III The Frozen Throne Multiplayer Games on Battlenet. I'm not a computer genius but I know my way around most things. I tried hosting a game yesterday on my girlfriends laptop and my two friends were having a problem joining the game. I know it's not there PC's because we had just played the day before when I was at home. My GF has a Belkin Router that I setup so I went through all the usual steps. It was a little different than my linksys but heres what I tried:

1.) Went to my default gateway, virtual servers and changed the port settinsg to allow incoming connections into UDP and TCIP ports 6112-6119. This didn't work.
2.) I disabled the windows firewall. This also didn't work.
3.) I tried closing AVG anti virus. This didn't help.
4.) My friend suggested I try going into DMZ mode depsite the numerous warnings I've heard about doing so but this also didn't work.

I guess I feel like I'm at a loss. Those are all the things that I usually try to get the game rolling but they didn't work

I was able to join my friend dan's game after I walked him through the process of setting up his ports...but I really wish I could Host.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

Re: Warcraft III Hosting Problem on Windows Vista

Nevermind.

I figured out the problem. There are too sections in port forwarding. Private Port and Public Port. I was treating them as minimum range and max range when they weren't. On the Belkin Router I have, you have to enter 6112-6119 in both the private port and public port section for it to work properly.

Excellent site to figure how how to configure your router for any type of game.
