No one has been able to help maybe this forum can. Connection Issues with WoW/Vent
So for the past 3 days now I have been having a big issue with vent/WoW as I know many of the people on this forum have had. However, I could not find anybody that had the same issue I did or at least none that had a way to fix it so hopefully one of you can help me out...here it goes.
For some reason 90% of the time I try and log into my WoW account I can only make it to "Success!" on the account load in screen. It will just freeze there like an authentication bug but it won't move, the same issue happens with vent just as frequently. When I log onto vent after about 2 - 5 seconds everyone who had their mics open in vent just freeze. No sound comes out, it doesn't kick me out, I have no ping in the vent, I am just there and nothing at all is happening. Further more I can browse the internet fine when I haven't tried logging in to either one of these programs however when i start one the other or both up and it happens I can no longer use my web browser until I reset my wireless cards connection to the router. The weird part is that when I ping my own ip (more on this later) even after I have had all the connection problems I still come up with a steady stream of packets. I have tried a DNS flush, switching between 3 wireless network cards, I have reset the Router/Modem 8 - 9 times, I have called my ISP and found out its not the internet(which I have confirmed as I have had no problem using the internet before i try logging in to those things and no one else in my house has experienced these problems.) I have started pinging my router everytime I log on. Whenever I attempt to log into WoW and it fails and I get stuck on the success screen I will have "Request Timed Out" for one line and then it goes back to pinging my IP as normal with no speed increase, yet I have no access to the internet still as stated above. I know this is probably a weird problem that most people havent seen before, but if someone could help me I would really appreciate it. As I almost snapped my keyboard over my knee after DCing in a raid and then getting the lock out problem for 20 mins. Here is what my ping log looks like before/after I try and log into WoW =========================================================================== Microsoft Windows XP [Version 5.1.2600] (C) Copyright 1985-2001 Microsoft Corp. you're just pinging your router which doesn't show any relevant info
try pinging google ping www.google.com Microsoft Windows [Version 6.0.6001] Copyright (c) 2006 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved. Re: No one has been able to help maybe this forum can. Connection Issues with WoW/Ven
So I have narrowed the problem further down to my wireless network. I have been playing on both WoW and vent wirelessly for 3 years w/o incident like this. I moved my computer down stairs and hard wired into the router and had 0 problems, then I put my wireless card on next to the router and had no problems again, when I moved it back upstairs all the issues start again. Yet I have no idea what could be causing it still. I have a 4 bar wireless connection.
I just pinged google twice with nothing but my browser up here were the results... Microsoft Windows XP [Version 5.1.2600] (C) Copyright 1985-2001 Microsoft Corp.
