Re: Please Help me...

What make/model is your PSU?

Do you realise that the XP Black Edition is illegal?

Re: Please Help me...

Is it only this game that crashes or all fullscreen games?

Make a note of the temperatures and PSU voltages in BIOS, then reboot and check again with SensorsView or SpeedFan, preferably while playing a game.

How many amps does your Morr Loqic 500W PSU have on the +12V line?

Do you have any links to show that Microsoft approve of, supply and support the hacked XP Black Edition? I can't find anywhere online that is selling it legally, only torrent and warez sites.

Re: Please Help me...

130F (50C) for the GPU (graphics card) is good. 101F (38C) for the HD0 (hard drive) is quite high but shouldn't be causing games to crash. Did you take these readings during or after playing a game?

Is it only this game that crashes or all fullscreen games?

Make a note of the temperatures and PSU voltages in BIOS, and also while gaming using SensorsView. We need to see all the readings, not just the graphics card and hard drive.

How many amps does your Morr Loqic 500W PSU have on the +12V line? Remove the side panel from the case to see the PSU label for this info.

Did you buy the XP Black Edition from Microsoft or did you download it?

Re: Please Help me...

In the +12V there are 10A written. Why did you asked?? Regarding to the Fullscreen games its the only game in fullscreen that crushes the other two: Diablo II and Rise of Nation; aren't crushing even they are played in a full screen.

Regarding the XP Black Edition issue I just borrow a CD copy of that to a friend who also have that series in his PC..

Re: Please Help me...

The +12V line from your PSU powers the graphics card. For AGP graphics cards, it needs to be providing at least 18A, and for PCIE cards it needs to be 28A. You need a stronger PSU for a PCIE 8500GT.

Re: Please Help me...

Mr. Koala please be more specific cause I'm not that good in abbreviations... Can u give me some PSU model/brand that is good for my PC...

Regarding to my other games, I'm experiencing lag sometimes when I play Diablo II. Is this due to my ailing PSU also??

Re: Please Help me...

There might be other problems that are causing Diablo II to lag, but if your PSU label says there are only 10 amps on the +12V line, then it's too weak to power your graphics card and should be replaced as soon as possible to avoid damaging the rest of your computer. If the game is still lagging after the upgrade, we can start looking at other options like drivers, patches, defrag, free hard drive space, etc.

Blow out any dust from the inside of your case with a can of compressed air to try and reduce the hard drive temperature, and make sure all fans are spinning. There should be a fan at the front of the case pulling in cool air and one at the back blowing warm air out.

Sorry about the abbreviations. AGP is the older Accelerated Graphics Port, and PCIE is the newer Peripheral Component Interconnect Express. Basically, motherboards will have one or the other of these types of slot for the graphics card. Your GeForce 8500GT is a PCIE card, so it needs a good quality PSU like the ones listed below

Corsair 550W (41A/+12V)
OCZ StealthXStream 600W (58A/+12V)
Seasonic 550W (58A/+12V)
