WoW - Unexplainable latency problem
Hey guys, this problem is driving me crazy. I have been trying to play WoW but my latency is unexplainably always hovering around 1000, which makes gameplay almost impossible. Here is some background:
I play on my lenovo thinkpad which far surpasses the system reqs. I have been playing on it smoothly for a few months, and have played while connected to at least 5 or 6 different ISPs and have never had a problem. The problem started last week, the day I moved into my new place. I thought the cause was my ISP, but I installed WoW on my gf's mac and never get a ping above 50. I've tried going hardwired to the modem, so the problem is not the router. I tried deleting select files/folders as suggested by blizzard. I've also updated my network card driver. I shut off all firewalls going as far as unistalling norton's. After none of these things worked, I figured there was some mal/adware that my zonealarm couldn't identify. So after total frustration, I reformatted by hard drive -- and the problem still persists. I would greatly appreciate ANY feedback to help me solve this headsplitting issue. Thanks a lot. |
