xbox live
I am trying to connect xboxlive for my son. My wireless adaptor is picking up a connnection to my router but keeps failing IP address test. I have tried anything i can underestand but think i need someone to explain it to me like i am an idiot. Please help as i have an unhappy son

Bt broadband, the xbox is picking up the router and saying CONNECTED but the next test is for IP Address and that's the prob. I,ve done it automatic and manual. Bt said the router does not need configuration but that the xbox does but that's not much help to me. I presumed you buy the adaptor you have wireless internet and that it would be as easy as that. Wish I never bothered now

I'm afraid I'm not familiar with how Bt works but maybe a call to them would get you connected as it sounds like it may be a DHCP or MAc address filtering issue.
