Computer Restarts When Loading Game
So about a few months back, i get this computer that im currently using and play this game called Lunia for about 1 month [ive been playing it for a while on my old computer and ive had no problems with Lunia] and one night my computer just randomly restarts. Before it was restarting maybe every few hours...and now its restarting right when i load the game.
When i take off the auto restart upon failure button in system properties, it doesnt make it stop at the bsod as it did before...it just skips it and STILL auto restarts. At first it went to the bsod when i first took it off the auto restart button but not it just totally skips it. It gives errors on about 3 other games, works semi-ok for World of Warcraft [causes errors here and there], and for Lunia, it just restarts my comp. And ever since this started happening, my computer turns on but doesnt appear on the monitor. It happens when i turn my computer on after a few hours of it being off, like after i wake off. And yes i am a computer noob so please state on how i can find and write my computer specs. |

Re: Computer Restarts When Loading Game
Hey, this has happened to me before. And for me it was due to my computer "over-heating", with newer computers there are certain functions which permit a computer to completely shutdown when it gets to a certain temperate.
Does it only occur when your playing games? You can check the temperate of your computer by downloading Speedfan, its free and very easy to use. Here is the link. http://www.filehippo.com/download_sp...70311088b449c/ You can also find your computer spec by going to start->run. And then by typing dxdiag and hitting enter. Use the save all information button at the bottom of the dxdiag application and save the .txt file to your desktop (or somewhere easy to access). |

Re: Computer Restarts When Loading Game
Ok...so its not overheating, maybe something on your computer is not correctly installed or it's outdated. Maybe try updating your drivers and see if there are any changes.
If your not sure how to do this. Then right click on "My Computer" and choose "Device Manager", then click on a device and click properties and update driver. |

i just got a blue screen randomly and it said something involving "smwdw.sys" [not exactly sure if this was exactly right]. but thats all i wrote down.
and if this matters at all...my virus scans tell me to change "ntoskrnl.exe Result/Infection:change" Yeah and another noob question...- how do you turn off anti virus? I can't seem to find a way to disable it atm. and the thing you sent me...it turns off my monitor and my computer still stays on. like a delayed restart or what happens when i try to play the game that gives me computer restarts... Re: Computer Restarts When Loading Game
no bsod error message usually relates to heat or power see if you can borrow another psu to try in it

Re: Computer Restarts When Loading Game
im starting to think that my psu might be weak or somewhat broken.
a few people wrote this to me Someone wrote this "You may be a little bit "light" on the power supply." "The fact that the machine doesn't start right up when you turn it on cold is indicitive of either a defect in the POWER GOOD signal from the power supply to the motherboard, or a defect in the motherboard POWER GOOD circuitry." - I asked why my computer doesn't start up properly when it is cool. Like when i wake up or after hours of non-use/ and another said this "The first suspect is the power supply, the second one is the motherboard, and the third one is your RAM." any suggestions or something to indicate that it actually is damaged or something else may be the problem? Re: Computer Restarts When Loading Game
the ea power supplies originally were great then they switched where they sourced the components from and they deteriorated in quality
so borrowing another one is the best option at the moment to check and either confirm or eliminate the psu as the problem you would expect your current psu to run the system with ease does your computer specs meet the min required for the game
