Major LAG in All Games Played....
Every game I've been playing whether its Call of Duty 4, Counter-Strike, Counter-Strike: Source, etc. I get a large amount of lag spikes. I have tried going straight into my modem and have tried with my router and I still get the same thing. I've pinged the servers and I even pinged google and it spikes while pinging them.
I have looked around on the web and noticed identical issues but they really didn't help me any because they were with games that I don't play. I have a feeling it has something to do with my network card considering my other computer I have it works fine on. But this new computer does it all the time. Please note the other computer is Windows XP, Im thinking maybe its a problem between my NIC card and my Vista. My Specs: SiSoftware Sandra Processor Model : Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q9300 @ 2.50GHz Speed : 2.49GHz Cores per Processor : 4 Unit(s) Threads per Core : 1 Unit(s) Type : Quad-Core Internal Data Cache : 4x 32kB, Synchronous, Write-Thru, 8-way, 64 byte line size L2 On-board Cache : 2x 3MB, ECC, Synchronous, ATC, 12-way, 64 byte line size, 2 threads sharing System System : Gateway FX4710-UB003A Mainboard : Gateway G33M05G1 Bus(es) : ISA PCI PCIe IMB USB FireWire/1394 i2c/SMBus Multi-Processor (MP) Support : No Multi-Processor Advanced PIC (APIC) : Yes System BIOS : Phoenix Technologies, LTD 841P041G Total Memory : 6GB DIMM DDR2 Chipset Model : NEC P35/G33/G31 Processor to I/O Controller Front Side Bus Speed : 4x 333MHz (1.33GHz) Total Memory : 6GB DIMM DDR2 Memory Bus Speed : 2x 333MHz (666MHz) Video System Adapter : NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT (512MB DDR3, 600MHz/1.39GHz/2x950MHz, PCIe 1.00 x16, SM4.0) Graphics Processor Adapter : GeForce 9800 GT (1.01, 512MB, 1.63GHz) Network Services Network Adapter : Intel(R) 82566DC-2 Gigabit Network Connection (Ethernet, 100Mbps) Power Management Mains (AC) Line Status : On-Line Operating System(s) Windows System : Microsoft Windows Vista Home 6.00.6001 (Service Pack 1) Platform Compliance : x64 Windows Experience Index Current System : 5.9 Any information other then this you need let me know but I think this might sum it up.
