Problems connecting Xbox to PC..

I'm trying to connect my Xbox to my pc so i can play live. I'm connected to the internet through a Verizon Wireless aircard, so I plan on useing internet shareing to run live with it. Problem is when i connect everything up, and run the test, the xbox says the network cable is unpluged. I'm not behind a firewall, and the PC doesnt even detect the xbox. So what should I do?

the XBOX should be connected directly to router either wirelessly or wired not through a computer

Re: Problems connecting Xbox to PC..

yes but I used a laptop once as a router and the laptop picked up the xbox right away, so its not an issue with a router, more with the PC not detecting the xbox.

Re: Problems connecting Xbox to PC..

Is this PC XP pro or XP home?
what about your laptop which OS does it have on it?

Hold the Windows key and press R, then type CMD (COMMAND for W98/WME) to open a command prompt:

IPCONFIG /ALL

Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter.
Paste the results in a message here.

we'll try to see if your comp can at least see the xbox for now

Re: Problems connecting Xbox to PC..

ok, the Computor can see the xbox now. When I test it, it confirms that it sees it. It says its wired, but then it fails the IP test. I have no idea what to do now...

Re: Problems connecting Xbox to PC..

simple thing to do is to manual configure the ip adress into your Xbox

go into network settings then see what IPv4 says hopefully its something like 192.168.1.100 or 192.168.2.100 (your router address will be something like 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.2.1)

whatever yours is copy the first 3 sets of digits and make up the last.
something like this 192.168.1.25 or 192.168.2.25

just manually put that in the xbox network thingy configure r
