Steam
I'm not completely sure if I'm writing in the right forum seeing as this is my first post but anyway.
I've had steam for about a month or two now and have had the same problem since its been installed. If I want to open it I have to ctrl+alt+del then go to processes, close it down from there and try to open it again; this has to be done many times before I get any result, sometimes I have to restart my computer altogether and try again ![]() I'm running on Windows XP64 (Which is what I think the problem is), it isn't being blocked by any firewalls and I'm certain it's not a hardware problem

Re: Steam
Which games do you have installed via Steam? For me, I know that sometimes Steam locks up when starting if I have too many games installed, but this is only like when I have almost all of the apps installed.

Re: Steam
It was happening when I had only HL2:Deathmatch.
But now I have CSS, DoD, Orange Box and some shortcuts for other games

Re: Steam
Is Steam set to automatically start up when your computer boots?
If it is I recommend you turn it off, it's under the 'Interface' tab of settings. I used to have the same problem but now it only starts when I want to use it, and I haven't had any problems since. |
