[SOLVED] Call of duty 4, disappearing characters

Hi, I'm playing Call of duty 4: Modern Warfare, mostly Multiplayer (online)
And to play online, you have to make a character..
But I have lost many of my characters

I don't do anything special, I make the characters.. Plays on them..One day I logged out of call of duty, and the next time I logged in it were gone.. So I made a new one, came further than on the last one.. And then it disappears and the old one comes back : s
So I made my 3rd character a week ago, and now it is gone.. But the last one came back..
I have tried to uninstall, but that didn't work.. The game works fine at everything....
The only problem is the characters = /

Any idea someone ?

If you are talking about your character meaning your name maybe you can go here

C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\players

and copy your profile and save it somewhere else on your pc everytime your done playing
Then if your name disappears again just go to where you copied your profile too and paste it to that same location as where you copied your profile from and it should come back up.

Not sure if thats going to help or if its what you are talking about

That sounds like an option.. I am not sure if it is gonna work, but I think it is worth a try..

I am letting the tread be open a little longer, maybe someone knows my problem even more. And can help me prevent it ?

the only thing is i have not heard this happening except when the game first released

you sure you have updated cod4 to the most current patch

if not download the most current patch should be cod4 1.7

maybe that will fix the problem

Well, I have the newest patch.. So that is not a problem, but I reappeard.. And I now have a copy of it ^^ thx
