Main Menu of CoD4

Yo I have been having some problems with my game Call of Duty 4. Ok so I got it installed and have been playeing it for about 2 years with no problems. Then this morning I got on and chose my profile. Then I clicked join game (since it was online multiplayer). The second I clicked it my game went off and I was back to my Home screen with all my icons. Please help I need to fix this . Post Answer asap plz!!!:4-

hey i got some problems with call of duty 4 right now. I recently played call of duty 4 (yesterday) and now when i try to play this is what happens:

I click on call of duty 4 multiplayer
it then loads to a black screen
then it goes right back to my desktop screen

please send answer as fast as you can
