Sims 2 and vista

I have a laptop that has vista. I installed sims 2 and when i tried opening it it said there was a capacity problem. I then went onto the sims 2 website and downloaded the update for it. That error doesn't come up anymore but instead, when i open the program the opening screen comes up and nothing else happens. Please help!!!!!!!!!

When it says there's a capacity problem, do you still have a lot of space left on your hard drive or is it pretty full?

My laptop is new and there is a lot of space left. But i don't think its capacity, i can't remember what the word was that it said. Any ideas what the problem is?

Hi Louise, welcome to TSF

Uninstall then reinstall the game (without the update) and copy down the full error message when it appears. This will make it easier for us to diagnose the problem.

Note: If you have any saved games or profiles, back them up before uninstalling.
