Please help!!! This one has got me tearing my hair out.
Every time I play CoD4 or Counterstrike multiplayer online, I get disconnected after 5-10 minutes. Not only does the game disconnect, but my internet connection goes completely. I am unable to connect using any other application. In fact, I am unable to connect to my modem at all. Restarting the modem doesn't help. I have to reboot the PC too. So far I have tried the following... 1. A known serviceable modem (wired & wireless). 2. Disabling firewall. 3. Port forwarding set up correctly for games. 4. Line tests carried out - OK. None of the above has helped at all. I'm getting desperate now. Thanks in advance for any suggestions. |

Re: Losing connection when online gaming
Are youusing a router or connecting straight from the modem? If you have a router make sure your firmware is up to date.
