have to open up ports

Im not sure if ive got this in the right catagory but recently i have tried to connect to the playstation 3 network and am told that i must open up a DMZ port inside a DHCP range can i do this myself or do i need to contact someone to do it for me?

are you using a router then do it yourself.just open up the routers control panel,and enable the dmz then be sure it matches you ip address.

thank you for replying how do i find my routers control panel im using windows xp?

if you are using a router normally type http://192.168.1.1 into the internet explorer address bar.
