Steam connection trouble

I can connect to Steam normally and use the programs and tools. My games however, which consist of Half-Life 2, Lost Coast and Orange Box, are stalled in the middle of updates at 99%. I've made sure the Steam client and server are forwarded to the correct ports on my router and tried virtually every suggestion on the Steam support site but nothing has helped to solve the problem. The support site's forum hasn't been of any help either so I was wondering if anyone here might be able to help me.

Now it would appear I can't connect to Steam at all.
