Connectivity Issues with R6Vegas
Hello, this is my first post on these forums. You guys seem really knowledgeable about all kinds of PC issues and are willing to help people, which I think is really awesome.
Onto my problem. I've been trying to play Rainbow Six Vegas on my PC lately (the first one still), and I've been having issues staying connected to their multiplayer network service. I've checked the sticky post, and I'm pretty sure none of those things are issues, because several (6-8) months ago I WAS able to play the game extensively online with little to no problem (especially of this sort). The game runs fine in singleplayer, and when I CAN connect (or stay connected) it runs fine as well (to the point that my PC can handle anyways). Because of this, it doesn't SEEM like it should be some kind of driver issue. Here's what happens: If I can get on, I look at the list of games. Some of them don't show me a ping value. I'm semi-used to this, as it happened occasionally before. For whatever reason, these were people I wasn't able to connect to for some reason. Didn't happen often, so I didn't care. Clicking on them woulkd yield the message "Failure to Connect". However, now about 50% of the time, when I check the list, EVERY game on there yields this message. Typically when this happens, if I leave the multiplayer service and attempt to restart it, it will fail to initialize the client. If I do get into a game and play, I will eventually randomly be disconnected from the server. When THIS happens, and sometimes before I even make it to the online menu, the client will initialize, but the login will fail due to "The operation took too long and was cancelled. Please try again later". The only thing I haven't tried yet is uninstalling and reinstalling/updating it. I'm assuming I should try that and get back to you guys on whether or not it works, but I wanted to get this post up first and see if anyone had any thoughts on the matter. |
