Running 2 IPs From Same System, Possible?
I play a text-based game online (the game has its own client, its not web-based) where multiple characters can be played simultaneously, each in their own window. However, the game was recently changed to allow only 1 character online per IP.
Now, I have 2 computers.. so I can still play the game with 2 characters simultaneously, but it is quite a burden having to use 2 computers, jumping back and forth between the 2. Many people openly play multiple characters at once with multiple computers and they are allowed, so Im assuming that using this method would be allowed as well, if it is possible: I was wondering if there was any possible way for one computer to use 2 (or more) IPs at once or otherwise 'trick' the server running the game into allowing me to bypass the IP check that only allows one character? Would there be a program or settings I could use, or would it be dependent on certain hardware (if its even possible)? Thanks in advance :) |

Two network cards, two modems, two Internet accounts. Kinda expensive to multibox, no?

ah.. yes :s
I was hoping there was some way to create like.. a virtual system.. within my system.. equipped with its own virtual identity and such x.x next idea.. is there any way to utilize my 2nd computer, which has its own public IP address, and control it on my 1st computer simultaneously? |

A KMV switch may be the best solution. You can control both with one keyboard, one mouse, and one monitor.

Best way to utilize the second computer is to use remote desktop.
Also if the game can be configured to run on proxies, you can give it a public web proxy address like those found on Annomyzer.net etc so that the server thinks that they are two seprate machines. |

Re: Running 2 IPs From Same System, Possible?
How do you figure out if a game can be ran on proxies? Would it be obvious, or does it require some expertise to forward connections to a proxy server? I cant figure it out :s
