Hey, i recently got back into planetside but i am having issues running it.
It acts fine, it starts, loads, and begins properly. But whenever i get into a heated battle, or somewhere that has action and i am on foot or flying the game freezes, i try to Ctrl+Alt+Delete but that doesn't work so it forces me to hit the reboot button on my pc. The Sony Online tech support database seems to lack proper understanding with the issue, and that being said they do not have many varieties of support regarding crashing, the support they do have i have tried and got no results so i am starting to wonder why this is happening. A. I defragged the Planetside files, and all the other fragmented stuff. B. I freed some room in my hard drive, around 20 Gb of space. C. I tried file deletion and then Auto-restoration through SOE. D. I turned some video settings down. Last time i played planetside was in 2006, and it ran smooth the whole time no crashing. Here is my system specifications: Pentium 4 Processor 3.0 Ghz 512 MB RAM MSI Nvidia Geforce 6600 GT Realtek 67 Audio integrated Sound card Windows XP with Service Pack 3 DirectX 9.0c Latest and greatest. My Video card is up to date, my motherboard is, everything. I am starting to think that might be why. But you have to wonder; Why can all the other players run without it crashing? This is real frustrating especially since i really want to get back into it and be able to play without crashing. So i request someone to help me solve this out. I always terminate running processes i don't need like Powerdvd.exe etc.. But for some reason that doesn't help, and i tried to optimize the card to work with planetside's features but that didn't work. What the hell.. PLEASE HELP ME! |
