CSS problems in multiplayer.
Hello everyone.
On my CSS i have the fps averaging on 130 and can reach over 200 at some points, and my choke never goes above 10, but for some reason i will randomly freeze for about 10 seconds then resume playing. This mostly happens when i get some ammo pack, at the start of each round or when I or someone else dies, i'm just about to get killed or just at a random point. My PC sepc's are: Nvidia 7900 256mb ram 2gb ram Dual core Amd athlon 6400 Windows XP SP2 All my drivers are up to date. I meet the recommended requirments for this game, and it is fine in single player, i don't have this problem with any other steam games except one mod called "Age of Chivalry" which is a mod that i don't like anyway. I've tried editing my rates but they don't seem to do anything and i've also tried editing my resolution and graphics but no luck. Thanks for reading. Re: CSS problems in multiplayer.
I seem to ahve fixed the majority of this lag by right clicking my css shortcut goign to compalibility and ticking disable visual themes, i'm also updating my directx 9c if i haven't already got the latest version.
On my compatibility i can't select windows XP from the drop down list which is wierd seeing as i have XP SP2. Thanks |

Re: CSS problems in multiplayer.
Ok so my game isn't 100% fixed but it is alot better, i've also looked through the threads abouot CSS and none of them date back furthur than 20/12/07 which is around the time the new steam/css updates were released so i jsut think it's the updates , hopefully steam will release a new update soon.
I've also tried changing the priority of steam.exe by pressing ctrl+alt+del and right clicking it in processes, i think that when my CSS is on the higher priority it works better, but some say it works better on a lower priority. I'm not getting any feedback from other members on this thread even though its been viewed quite alot, any reason why? Thanks. |

Re: CSS problems in multiplayer.
I've fixed mine, I think the main element was in my options.
Go to options in CSS and go to the page with your spray on it and click advanced. Then there should be somthing called decals or somthing, mine was 0 but i've set it to 100 now and my lag seems to be fixed. If 100 doesn't work jsut try random numbers to see what works best. |
