Oblivion Dagon Shrine

I am playing Oblivion and I am in the Dagon Shrine. I went where I was supposed to go, but the lizard guy I freed was killed. When I get to the end of the part where you need to get out the gate is locked, so I am trapped and have no where to go. Help me!

Oblivion isn't online and this isn't tech support, so this definitely doesn't belong here. However, I think there is another door through that place with the caves. Keep checking the most detailed map and make sure you've explored everything.
