Steam Issues...once again...

Ok, so I've been having some problems with steam and other programs lately. A week ago or so and steam would just go to like a hidden mode. So I did 2 restores, one to December 31st 2006 and then to like November 14th 2006. Then I went to GotFrag forums and found this nice little program and it fixed the steam issue.

Now, Steam is working. But when I join a Source server, it crashes at the end of retreiveing server info part. Due to some hl2.exe error. 1.6 works when I join a server once. Then when I retry or join another server, it gives me some error with memory. Xfire doesnt work either.

I'm thinking of getting another computer.

Some kids told me to delete "MMSYSTEM.DLL". I didnt listen at first. I went into their vent and they talked to me and then banned me saying it would have broken my computer.

has it worked before correctly ? seems like there is a memory issue judging from the second pic in 1.6 . in the first pic can you get the details of that error (click the blue writing click here to obtain the details of the error) and post those .

also click the fix my game link in my signature and see if any of that helps.
