Guild Wars not connecting then whiteout!

The game used to work totally fine until it randomly just wouldnt connect, on the first screen i mean (connecting to arenanet) then after leaving it for a bit i tried exiting it by closing it and the window just turns white and then the message comes up saying "would you like to end task?" you know with the end now option and stuff. Well when i try and load it up after that it says that the archive file is in use or inaccesible, i thought this must mean its still running as a process so i opened task manager to close it down and try again, i found "Gw.exe" in the processes list and tried to end it. The problem is that it just wont end unless i restart the pc which when i do, the whole thing starts again with it not connecting then going white and saying its innaccessible! this is giving me a right headache at the minute could someone please help me?

have you run through the "follow these steps first" link in my sig.personally i would try to reinstall the game.

I have done all those steps mate, which is why im posting

since you have tried those steps,and nothing helped.next step would be to scan for malware.since windows cant stop the process that sounds kinda like a potential virus problem.

It seemed to start working again on its own somehow, im not sure if the problem that caused it still exists but i'll make sure to get a virus scanner asap :)
