Resolution Promblem

Yea well whenever i play i online games with small res. (800x600) i get a very bad image =/. This is wut it looks like.

[img=http://img300.imageshack.us/img300/2553/lameav1.th.png]

Ok, err, notice part of the girls head is missing, so imagine the white part of the bottem being the top of the girls head and part of the sky or whateever.. I think u understand? so wut can i do about this?

I tryed making the resolution bigger (1020x800 or something..)and it fixed the little "top at bottem" promblem but then it flickers at 32bit. and it like.. err.. hmm.. like little black waves soar across the screen at 16bit. Anyway to fix either of these promblems so i can see?

Hi there,
try changing the resolution to 800X600, and see if that makes a difference, though most games will adapt the resolution to fit the game.

A GeForce4 MX is essentially a GeForce2 chip with a few more features. You should be able to run most older games at 1024x768 with ease and decent frame rates. it sounds like the game itself isn't designed to scale images and backgrounds to resolutions greater or smaller than what it was designed to run with.

That cant be it. I used to run Rakion in 1080x800 or whatever and it worked beautifully. And now i cant. Is there a certain video drive i can get just for hugh res. or something. I was thinking mayb it my GeForce4 and i just need to use something else. Also i was wondering does desktop res and bit have anything to do with my promblems?

Desktop resolution will only affect your gaming if you play in a windowed mode, where the game runs in a window on the desktop and is constrained to a certian area. Bit depth can affect performance due to the extra processing needs brought on by the extra color information. A geForce 4 can handle 8-, 16-, and 32-bit with general ease.

What's the maximum desktop resolution of your computer?

Your GF4 card is more than capable of running games at that resolution. If the game allows for it then you should make the switch in the game's settings.

´try this:

1.switch ur desktop resolution to 800x600
2. switch the game resolution to 800x600 and see if that makes a difference

if it does then

1. set ur desktop resolution to something like 1024x786 or 1240xwhat ever
2. set the game resolution to the same or try 800x600

None of those works, i been tryed all of em. Is there a way u can run a game in window mode? Or can window mode only be operated on games that came with that option.

Ive just tryed every possible combination of options.Absolutly none worked.I realized it flickers less at 32bp than 16bp. But that wont do me any good -_-.
Making the shade darker made it less noticable but it still anoys me. Im stuck..
