Battlefield 2 Map Help

I am currently making a battlefield 2 mod and need some help with a few things.
What i have first done is copy all normal bf2 folders in the C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2 area, until i work out what i will need and not need. Even with all of this i can go into bf2>community>custom games and load my mod, the problem is i cannot test single player, because clicking the singleplayer button causes my game to crash. that is what i first wanted help with. The other thing is that i need some help working out how to get new weapons, vehicles etc. into the game.

to open a mod map it must be set up as a local server not single player
