Left 4 Dead 2 Demo

I don't know if anybody has had the chance to play it but it seems the AI and the choice of weaponry has greatly increased compared to L4D 1

The Tank
I went against the tank once. The tank went after one person and then instead of beating that person to death, went after others right away to get them all incapicitated. I was surprised by this to say the least but the tank did die first time around on advanced with only 1 dead and 2 incaps (including me)

Items (first aid and other oddities)
Ok so the usual items stay from L4D, that is the health pack and pills. There are a couple new entries though for health. The adrenaline needle which allows you to speed up and the defibrillator which allows you to bring someone back from the dead. Yes back from the dead.

Throwable Items
-Pipe Bomb
-Molotov
-Boomer Vial
The last item is a fun one. Whenm you chuck it at a zombie other zombies come to that one and attack it. Its like the zombies got puked on by a boomer

Melee Weapons
I've only encountered these weapons;
-Machete
-Frying Pan
-Night Stick
All of them are equally pretty deadly but as you would think the machete would be stronger than the rest.

Zombies themselves
When shooting zombies they seem to be a bit stronger and the gore is way more present in this game. I've killed zombies before above me, only to see that their intestines are dropping through the ceiling grate above me or if I shot a zombie in the back I can see the flesh and their vertebrae.

The uzi comes with more ammo this time. It would have a 50 round clip with 650 shots. The regular shotgun has less ammo to carry with only 50 - 58 shots I think. The tier 2 weapons have the same amount of shots as before. The blowing up of zombies is very satisfying and each gun has a very particular feel to it.

Special Infected
To all you grls out there who love to blow up zombies you'll be pleased to know that I have seen and blown girl boomers and the spitters are girls too. All of the special infected look different too.

Spitter - Shoots acid on the ground and it hurts about as much as a molotov, so stay away from the acid vomit. She has around same hit points as a smoker
Boomer - Same as L4D
Smoker - Same as before
Charger - Runs really fast and smashes teammates to the ground. Has about double or tripe hit points of a smoker or hunter.
Hunter - Same as before
Jockey - Jumps on a person's back and they go for the ride of their life while the jockey punches them.
Witch - She wanders now and is much harder to kill.
Tank - The tanks AI has been greatly improved so don't expect it to be so dumb anymore.

Environment
Depending on how well you play more hordes will come and some weapons will not be available. The maps didn't seem to change much as I was playing but maybe that's just because its was the demo.

Added for L4D2 melee weapons: I've found the guitar. I found the frying pan and the machete very satisfying to use.

I absolutely love the guitar. The sound it makes when I take zombie heads off :D
There are a few other Tier 2 weapons... the SPAS-12 is another semiautomatic shotgun, but the shells fire in a more compact spread. There's also the SCAR, simply called "Combat Rifle" in-game, which is similar to the M-16 but fires in bursts. And as Mcninjaguy mentioned, there's a semiautomatic sniper rifle holding 30 rounds per clip, which is my favorite so far. In addition, some of my friends have also found a magnum. This takes up the pistol/melee slot, holds 8 rounds at once, and is very powerful.

There's a couple weapons I missed out

-Its two different tier 1 shotguns (Chrome and regular pump action)
- The 3 round burst automatic rifle.
The two teir 2 auto shotguns have different names (auto Shotgun and Tactical Shotgun)
Desert Eagle Handgun (blows away limbs)

I've seen a couple other weapons from in video demos that do please me
-Crowbar (woot go Half Life!)
-Chainsaw
-Looks like there is a grenade launcher

I love the demo and if the servers were a bit better as I seem to be bit sticky with my aiming and I know its not my mouse. This game rocks!

I really like the sound of the Boomer Vial and am interested to know if it can be used on the Tank. Indoril pointed out to me that regular zombies wouldn't really do much against a tank in terms of damage, but I still think it would slow them down a bit having to get through them all. I don't think the Boomer Vial would have enough of an effect of regular zombies, or even the special infected zombies to make it worth while otherwise.

I haven't thrown a boomer vial at a witch yet but I think I have seen a tank get boomed on. It slows him down a little but I think a little is quite a bit when dealing with a tank. Best strategy is to burn the tank and to jump around obstacles with support fire while running back like a Special ops team. stop and fire to cover running back then those guys stop and fire at the enemy to cover your retreat. You do this every so often and keeping slightly out of reach of a tank and you should kill it no problem.

Other zombies I would just shoot them or melee them before they pounce me or whatever.

I think everyone has been owned by a tank on at least one occasion - they are the most buff of the special infected, except the witch if she gets you. Burning them is a good idea, but then you gotta run like hell 'cause it makes the tanks run faster - unless that has been changed in Left 4 Dead 2?

Well... It sounds like everybody who enjoyed L4D and doesn't live in Australia will be thoroughly enjoying themselves playing another good release from Valve. We Australians will probably have to put up with an episode of Mr Happy's funny-nice-non-violent-censored town where the violence is limited to kitty-slapping someone in the face to make them run away and cry for a minute or two.

Games like Left 4 Dead make me wonder whether Valve will ever release a bad game so that I can have something to truly hate them for.

Get a friend from the Americas to send an uncensored copy of Left4Dead 2; if that works....

One way to do it is have someone gift you the game over Steam. Even if you are located in Australia, a Steam game purchased elsewhere will remain uncensored.

Well, people who don't have friends in the US. I guess you could try ebay/amazon, many game sellers are from UK or US. Just make sure you get a good deal.... Gifting sounds risking. That really does stink you have censored games in Australia. Why not just form a riot and/or angry mob ?
