Re: Another Bioware success!
Looks like they screwed up the launch big time.
"Dragon Age launch fails: some can't play, others no DLC Dragon Age: Origins requires you to sign up for Bioware's new social site in order to grab the bonus content or downloadable missions some editions of the game came with, but that process proved to be fatally broken and overly complex for many gamers yesterday. Impulse buyers may not be able to play at all. Isn't PC gaming fun?" Full story here: http://arstechnica.com/gaming/news/2009/11/dragon-age-launch-fails-some-cant-play-others-no-dlc.ars |

Re: Another Bioware success!
It's an amazing game. Only concern: mages are about ten times more powerful than warriors. The lack of AOE abilities in the early game means that warriors are hobbled in fights against huge mobs of enemies (of where there are many) while mages can just use fireball or cone of fire or tempest and kill everything in a whole area. I get the feeling my warriors are just there to tickle the enemies so they hold still while my mages kill everything, except they're redundant even at that thanks to the "winter's grip" spell.

Re: Another Bioware success!
Wow, just saw Metacritic gave it 92%. That means it should be almost as awesome as the Half Life series.
I'll have to see about getting this, considering that it looks a lot like NWN2 and I loved that.

Re: Another Bioware success!
there is moments in the game when you start to rip your hair off, when lots of darkspawns attacks you and all your team dies, and you are the only one fighting knowing that you will die too!

Re: Another Bioware success!
I just bought DA Origins yesterday and I find it to be a very good game. I found some of the gameplay complex but that was due to being used to certain mouse and directional controls. Once I got used to things the game seems amazing and the combat is very good as well. I really loved the group play with having a group battle instead of single combat, reminds me of one of my favorite games-Vampire Masquerade. So Far I'm on I think my sixth quest to reach the top of the tower but can't seem to get there yet. I played for almost eight hours last night after getting the game (wife actually bought it for me). A Real Big Hit and with all settings maxed out with a 1680X1050 Res.
