My graphics compared to other graphics. One quick Question Please~

Hello, in my search for a new game-I have another question that keeps coming up.

Yes, I know I have a laptop which isn't for gaming. Basically, I like to enjoy games such as Battlefiield Series, WOW, LOTR, Guildwars, COD Series ect.....

My computer seems to handle Battlefield 2 decent with graphics at low settings/same with WOW...

My Question, am I able to play the games listed above on decent settings? (Newer COD/Battlefield games) ...If not, any other options???

*Intel Core 2 Duo P8400 processor (2.26GHz), 3MB L2 cache
*Genuine Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium with SP1
* 16.4" widescreen LCD with XBRITE-ECO technology
*3GB of pre-installed RAM & a roomy 250GB Serial ATA hard drive
***Chipset : Mobile Intel® PM45 Express Chipset
Interface : HDMI™17 and VGA out with Smart Display Sensor
Processor : ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 3470 with Total Available

Graphics Memory of 1530MB (max.)10
Video RAM : 256MB of dedicated video RAM

Nope. You have a intel chipset. I am surprised WoW runs on low settings, I know bf2 works on some intel chipset at low. If you get cod4 to run a menu your computer will shut off from overheating. Newer battlefield shouldn't work.

My recommendation is to build a new computer. Would you be interested in some builds from the building section under hardware? If you want to build a computer, what would your budget be?

Just a second. I may be mistaken here but this is your graphics card correct?

If that's so, it's a budget graphics card but it will handle those games at low - medium settings.

I overlooked it, in a rush. Still I recommend building a desktop, as it is better for gaming. It also runs cooler...

Re: My graphics compared to other graphics. One quick Question Please~

I have the ATI Radeon Mobility 3400 Series (HD?)...

Does this change your answer about running the games I like to play?

I was looking at your $800 build and that is a price i'd be willing to pay.(Building a Gaming PC locked thread)
How does that PC compare to, eh, say a Dell XPS Gaming PC that are around $1500-2000? And would you prefer an AMD or Pentium?

Pentium is a brand of Intel, so you mean AMD or Intel there both good but I'd say Intel.
Prebuilt computers use crap parts for a higher price than you building it yourself. The best deal is to build it yourself.

Yeah buying a prebuilt PC is one of the best ways to throw money down the drain. You should make a post here explaining what budget you're working with and what games you're wanting to play at what settings. Seriously, if you build it yourself you will save a lot of money.

Re: My graphics compared to other graphics. One quick Question Please~

Being I am stuck with this laptop for a while, I cant really affors to build a desktop til taxes come back =/

At best buy, when I am looking for games and the system requirements...What other NVDIA/Radeon Card is my card compared to? Since Radeon Mobility 3400 series is never listed on any game. I don't want to spend 50$ on a game, only to find out it runs like $^*%!

Well if it's like the ati radeon hd 3000 series don't expect it to run anything. What games did you have in mind?
I mean if you can run bf2 on low and only low, don't expect it to run anything more resource hoggy. Bf2 is an old game, I can run it on my intel chipset with 40 fps.

Re: My graphics compared to other graphics. One quick Question Please~

The card I have is the ATI Radeon Mobility 3400 Series...

BF2 runs fine when in game...starting the game/connecting to servers is the laggy part. And it's set on low (runs fine-decent graphics too)

WOW ran perfectly fine at Medium.

Just downloaded Pirates of the Burning Sea and it ran perfect on Medium.

LOTR Online was extremely choppy (Have no clue what settings)

I don't even want to try any of the new COD series...Basically looking for an MMORPG that's casual friendly...cant seem to find one I like (Except LOTR)..

Re: My graphics compared to other graphics. One quick Question Please~

I would not bother at looking which video card will work with the game as it will work with any game out there. It should be a question of if it can run it well with a particular game. The games are not going to get even close to running on high settings and most may not even run on medium settings.

If you have a game you want to play I would try and find a demo for you to play.
