New RTS/RPG? old comp...

All,
Need a new game here folks. I have a pretty old comp, nothing fancy till income tax time. Im looking for an RPG or RTS. C&C series, Warcraft, Titan Quest, Dungeon Seige... You get the idea, older games that my computer can handle.

RTS/Action/Whatever how mixed this game is: Diablo
Regular RTS: Starcraft

I liked Starcraft a lot though, I'm sure you have it though...

Fallout 1 and 2. I think Dune is also available on PC.

Beat and beat, Fallout 2 was epic. Also Brother Hood of Steel was pretty cool.

I think I'm out of ideas, Age of Empire, Age of Empire 2, Age of Mythology, KOTOR, Baldur's Gate, Baldur's Gate 2, and Neverwinter Nights.

The Might and Magic games were pretty fun, VI was the best in my opinion, VII and VIII were ok but lost some of the charm of VI while still having the same terrible graphics. Also, Heroes III.

Daggerfall is fun and it's free now, you need dosbox if you got a newer OS.

Oh wow! I forgot about Might and Magic! I remember playing these yearssssss ago on my old Compaq. You sir... win 1 internets... I actually sat for a few hours last night and played starcraft. Awesome game but I forgot how bad the AI is.

Zealex, Daggerfall is so terribly bad that I MUST play it again. Thanks for the link!

Personally, I like Dark Messiah of Might and Magic the best, it's a first-person RPG/adventure and it's totally amazing. Runs Source Engine so it'll do well on an older computer. Pick it up for about $20

I also suggest Diablo 2, Empire Earth 2, and Runescape

Runscape you say? Hmm... Im in.

Also, I believe the Diablo series was over rated. Was very boring after about 4 hrs of play time. I managed to get through the original but D2 i found a bit redundent. Now, commence the rants about me disliking a beloved game. Im ready!

Try Browser based games. I am playing Glory of Fellowland. You can also try it.

An older game that I still love is Final Fantasy 7. May take some tweaking to run it under XP but it's AWESOME.

Ok, fine, you can try FF8. I will say though that since Win98 I haven't been able to get that game to work properly. Mebbe I can try it under Win7.

I got FF8 going finein XP Vista and Windows 7. I think it might have had large black squares floating where tress and walls are supposed to be though.

To get FF8 running normally (tested under WinXP Nvidia 6 series) just run the game with the Software Renderer, the graphics will be slightly worse than the regular game, but hardly noticable if you havent played it on a console.
