Screenplay Writer Robert Rodat to Pen Sam Raimi's Warcraft Movie

MTV Multiplayer let rip a few hours ago with news that the upcoming Warcraft feature film from Sam Raimi will have its story written by screenwriter Robert Rodat. Rodat is best known for penning "Saving Private Ryan" and "The Patriot."

"We want to be really faithful to the game...to the Horde and the Alliance and the mythology that takes place in the game, and the archetypes that the game presents. I think we would try and find touchstones within the game to make it accurate and true and choose one or some of the lands that are portrayed in the game with as much accuracy and authenticity as possible.

"But we would have our writer, Robert Rodat, really craft an original story within that world that feels like a 'World of WarCraft' adventure. Only obviously it's very different 'cause it's expanded and translated into the world of a motion picture."

I don't like the game WoW but Saving private Ryan screenwriter made that movie epic. I'm actually a bit excited now.

Saving private ryan and the patriot were great movies. WoW's outcome will probably look like Lord of the rings. Well, not the story line but I wouldn't imagine the monsters wouldn't look too different.

I wouldn't be surprised by the Director Sam Rami did the Spider Man movies and hopefully he won't make a real cheesy movie this time although I did love all of the spiderman movies. :)

I would really love to see a Starcraft movie!! but a warcraft movie!
