Battlefield 2 Special Forces

I bought this game that was from Russia. It plays just fine. My question is how do I unlock the weapons. On the weapons selection screen, I see the main weapons with also a locked keypad and another main weapon next to it. Does anyone know how to unlock it? thx

You have to rank up to use them.

Sorry..new to the game. I just play single player mode rather than multiplayer. How do I 'rank up'? thx

Just kill alot of people online, not sure if single player works.

I don't know if BF2 is like 2142, but in 2142 you have to play online to rank up. If you rank online, you can use your unlocks offline too.

i do believe that you can only rank up if you play multiplayer. I am also sure that it is somewhat like 2142 by getting points for all sorts of stuff(capturing flags, saving lifes, and killin). I also believe it just gives you the weapon other then you selecting what one you want. could be wrong on that last part.
